About the Author:
John Ashcroft served as the 79th Attorney General of the United States until 2005. He began his career of public service in 1973 as Missouri Auditor and was later elected to two terms as the state's Attorney General. He served as Governor of Missouri from 1984-1990. He was elected as a United States Senator in 1994 and served in that capacity until 2000. He now lives in Virginia with his wife Janet.
