DEDHAM, Mass. (PRWEB) September 30, 2006 -- D’Angelo Grilled Sandwiches today announced the grand-prize winner of the company’s “Papi Says” Scratch Ticket Contest.
Selected from among 22,000 entries, Patty Medeiros of Taunton, Massachusetts, her husband, children and family friend have won a private batting practice session with David Ortiz at Fenway Park this Saturday, Sept. 30 from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. David Ortiz will personally instruct the six-member group and provide insight into his hitting techniques and success in the batting box.
The “Papi Says” Scratch Ticket promotion ran from July 3, 2006 through September 15, 2006. During this period, D’Angelo Grilled Sandwiches also gave away second-place prizes, including Red Sox tickets in groups of four, autographed David Ortiz baseballs, worth $225.00 each, and 1,000 “Papi Says” T-shirts valued at $20.00 each. D’Angelo also gave away thousands of instant food prizes to lucky contestants.
In addition to the “Papi Says” Scratch Ticket Promotion, D’Angelo also developed a web site devoted to the contest, www.papisays.com. The www.papisays.com Web site offered guests a glimpse into David Ortiz’s hitting philosophy and infectious personality. Contestants had the opportunity to send “Papi Says” e-mail cards to friends and family. The e-cards were free to send and included options for several Big Papi sayings, such as “Nobody looks good in pin stripes,” or “There’s a secret to hitting homers….shhhhh – it’s a secret.” The Web site also featured David Ortiz’s voice, downloadable Ortiz caricatures and interactive games -- making it a favorite stop for all Red Sox fans. D’Angelo Grilled Sandwiches is the official sandwich of the Red Sox.
Patty will be joined by D’Angelo’s internal contest winners, D’Angelo’s Quincy General Manager Denise McRae and Eric Ellis, General Manager of the Springfield D’Angelo. Denise will be bringing her two sons and nephews, while Eric will take 4 guests with him to meet Big Papi in person. The two D’Angelo General Managers received this honor by being the top performers in an internal company-wide sales contest.
