Governor's 2007 International Team Officers Announced

Oklahoma Governor's 2007 International Team officers announced. Official gavel ceremony to be presided over by Governor Henry, officers to be installed this February.

Oklahoma City, OK (PRWEB) January 25, 2007 -- Governor Brad Henry is scheduled to preside over the Governor's International Team's (GIT) gavel ceremony at the Oklahoma State Capitol in February. GIT 2006 Chairman Phil Scoggin from Durant, OK announced the upcoming officers that will serve the 2007 term: Mark A. Stansberry, Edmond - Chairman, Barry Clark, Tulsa - Vice Chairman and Randy Kellogg, Oklahoma City - Treasurer. Roy Williams, President of the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce served as chairman of the nomination committee.

Chairman Scoggin stated that "It has been an honor to serve the State of Oklahoma and the GIT. I look forward to continuing my support of GIT in its mission."

The purpose of the GIT is to assist and advise the Oklahoma Offices of the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State, Oklahoma Legislature, Oklahoma Department of Commerce-International Trade and Investment Division, with respect to international matters.

Chairman-elect Mark A. Stansberry stated, "I look forward to working with all the team members during this Centennial Year. This year is a great opportunity for Oklahoma to show the world all that it has to offer. Oklahoma is truly a place for global business to thrive and our state government needs to be aware how to better serve the state's business community."

Upcoming GIT events include: International Day at the Capitol, and the Consular's Summit.

About GIT: The Governor's International Team is composed of 35 board members, comprised of business men and women, economic development practitioners, and educators with a common goal of increasing the awareness of international opportunities in the State of Oklahoma. The purpose of the Oklahoma Governor's International Team is to assist and advise the Oklahoma Offices of the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State, Oklahoma Legislature, Oklahoma Department of Commerce-International Trade and Investment Division, with respect to international matters.
