Original Wal-Mart Officer to Challenge Business Leaders at Albuquerque Conference: Come Change the World
Christian business conference looks to empower business leaders with the tools to change the world, one company leader at a time.
(PRWEB) February 19, 2007 -- A conference targeting Christian business owners and leaders will challenge those in the marketplace to embrace a call to transform the world. Through an action-packed event featuring world-class speakers, attendees will be equipped to operate their businesses and conduct their personal lives according to biblical principles.
Fellowship of Companies for Christ (FCCI) https://www.fcci.org/default.asp and Faith Comes By Hearing http://www.fcbh.org/ join together to host the event at the Marriott Pyramid in Albuquerque, New Mexico, March 8, 2007. The conference begins with breakfast at 8:00 in the morning followed by praise and worship. The keynote talks begin at 9:30 A.M.
Conference keynote speaker is Jim Dismore. Chairman and CEO of Ultimate Support Systems in Ft. Collins, Colorado and co-founder and senior advisor of KingWay Companies, a 501(c) foundation, Dismore's career spans 40 years in retailing, service, and manufacturing. Dismore was also a key player in building the Wal-Mart empire. He was one of the original officers and served in several senior management positions while the company grew to more than 400 stores.
Morgan Jackson, international director of Faith Comes By Hearing, will also address attendees on world change. Bringing stories from around the world, Jackson will speak on impacting nations and oral cultures with the Audio Word of God. Jackson has traveled extensively and has developed global partnerships with organizations and ministries that play vital roles in providing Audio Scriptures in the mother tongues of people around the world.
Conference co-hosts bring both professional business and international experience to the event. FCCI was founded in 1977 by Robert "Bobby" Mitchell and other Christian business executives who asked what Jesus would do when developing their business practices. Today FCCI operates as a vehicle to empower members to develop their own ministry, recognizing that the workplace provides an incredible opportunity to evangelize and to strengthen faith. The agency has active involvement from well-known Christian teachers such as Bruce Wilkinson, Henry Blackaby, Tony Evans, and Ron Blue. World famous Christian leader Franklin Graham is quoted on their website as saying, "God has begun an evangelism movement in the workplace that has the potential to transform our society as we know it."
Event co-host Faith Comes By Hearing is a nonprofit ministry which exists to reach oral communicators with the Word of God through audio technology. Faith Comes By Hearing partners with the American Bible Society, the International Bible Society, and other world-known ministries to give poor and illiterate people worldwide the opportunity to hear the Bible in their mother tongue. To date, the ministry has 264 Scripture recordings in 222 different languages with plans to record Audio Drama Bibles in every language spoken.
