ORLANDO, FL (PRWEB) March 26, 2007 -- Wi-Ex (www.wi-ex.com), the leading provider of consumer cell phone signal boosters, today announced zBoost zPersonal (zP), the personal zBoost, providing consumers with an affordable solution that captures and amplifies the 800MHz signal or the 1900MHz bands for improved cell phone signal at home, the office or on the go. The product is the first repeater-amplifier system for consumers for under $100. Showcased today at CTIA Wireless 2007 in booth 5483, zBoost zP creates a cell zone for a single user by improving signal strength for better voice and data transmission. Retailing for $99, the zBoost zP represents the lowest priced entry unit in the zBoost product family.

"We are happy to announce the zP at this low price point," said Lloyd R. Meese, President and CEO of Wi-Ex. "We looked at the marketplace compared to our current product offering and found a consumer need based on travel, as well as smaller spaces. The zBoost zP provides a unique solution for those consumers and takes only minutes to set-up with a very small footprint."

According to the zBoost Cell Phone Signal Survey recently commissioned by Wi-Ex and conducted by Harris Interactive®, 69% of cell phone owners have experienced service problems such as dropped calls (46%), poor signal reception (39%) or dead zones (33%).

The zBoost zP repeats and amplifies a cell phone signal from outside the building to a consumer's phone and is ideal for dorms, hotel rooms, condos or apartments all while maintaining the integrity of the carriers network. Like all Wi-Ex products, the zBoost zP uses patent-pending technology to protect the carrier network. In addition, it supports voice calls or data services and works with all phones and carriers except Nextel.

The package includes everything consumers need to improve their cell phone signal including a small window mount base unit and indoor antenna. The unit is designed to sit or hang in the window and a simple indoor antenna is cabled up to 20 feet across the room. The device comes in 2 flavors - wired and wireless. The wireless antenna sits on your desk, the wired version must be connected to your phone. The zBoost zP is easy to set-up and provides "take-with-you" convenience with a small footprint.

In addition to the zBoost zP, zBoost offers a suite of products that improve in-door cell phone signals through the creation of cell zones. They are easy to install, affordable and increase in-building coverage by up to 2500 sq ft. The zBoost product line is compatible with 800MHz and 1900MHz and range in price from $99 - $399 including:

·zBoost zP - Personal booster that works with both 800MHz and 1900MHz - $99 and $169 (Wireless Version)
·zBoost - Cellular frequency works with 800MHz - $299
·zBoost - PCS frequency works with 1900MHz - $299
·zBoost - Dual Band works with both 800MHz and 1900MHz - $399
·zBoost for the car - Dual Band works with both 800MHz and 1900MHz - $299
·zBoost for the Professional Installer - zBoost 600 series of products include single frequencies or a dual-band unit.

About the zBoost Cell Phone Signal Survey
This survey was conducted online within the United States by Harris Interactive on behalf of Wi-Ex between January 23 and January 25, 2007 among 2,413 adults 18 years of age or older. Figures for region, age within gender, education, household income and race/ethnicity were weighted where necessary to bring them into line with their actual proportions in the population. Propensity score weighting was also used to adjust for respondents' propensity to be online.
With a pure probability sample of 2,413 adults one could say with a ninety-five percent probability that the overall results have a sampling error of +/- 3 percentage points. The sampling error for the sub-samples of cell phone owners (n= 2,052) and cell phone owners who make cell phone calls at home (n= 1,755) would be higher and may vary. However, that does not take other sources of error into account. This online survey is not based on a probability sample and therefore no theoretical sampling error can be calculated.
