Museum of Low Res Brings Sony Blu-ray Disc to Life

Sony invites entertainment enthusiasts to join them on a virtual journey of discovery and find out how Blu-ray Disc will change the way consumers view their home entertainment.

London, UK (PRWEB) May 3, 2007 -- The Museum of Low Res (MoLR) is a voyage of discovery and enlightenment, enabling consumers to learn what Blu-ray Disc means and how this high definition (HD) technology can improve day-to-day life.

The Art of HD Room is a visual display of Blu-ray Disc and the effect it will have on viewing and listening pleasure. A giant TV sculpture demonstrates the resolution power of Blu-ray Disc through the representation of nine TV's banded together.

Discover alternative designs which could have revolutionised the market before the advent of Blu-ray Disc, such as a robotic arm sculpture which methodically changes up to 12 CD's at a time. This could have caught on if only Blu-ray Disc didn't offer the vast amount of storage space that it does.

The Science Room is a whistle-stop tour of the evolution of technology, smoothly arriving at present day with the development of Blu-ray Disc itself. Visitors will learn why blue beat pink to the finishing line, in an overview of the aborted 'Pink-ray' operation.

The Time Tunnel revisits 'pivotal' moments in history, such as the 'Flat versus Round Earth' debate and the 'Golf versus Mini Golf' debate. This will set entertainment enthusiasts in good stead for the big debate of 2007 - how to get the most from home entertainment.

Blu-ray Disc is the next generation of home entertainment, offering the most versatile, technologically-advanced HD video, audio and interactive content. MoLR guides visitors through this technology step by step, illustrating the benefits that can be expected from Blu-ray Disc.

Now available on PLAYSTATION 3 and on Sony VAIO computer products, Blu-ray Disc is set to change the way consumers watch films, listen to music, play games and store data forever.

The MoLR host will guide consumers through the Museum and get them up to speed on Blu-ray Disc and all HD has to offer. Visit the Sony Museum of Low Res website at www.blu-ray.sony-europe.com.
