Reader's Digest Says Myrtle Beach's IMAX® 3D Sand Dinosaur Sculptors Are Among "America's 100 Best" People And Places

Dinosaur sculpture by Team Sandtastic is 15-feet tall, 30-feet long and celebrates blockbuster IMAX 3D film, Dinosaurs 3D: Giants Of Patagonia.

Myrtle Beach, S.C. (PRWEB) May 26, 2007 -- Team Sandtastic, the Florida-based builders of a 15-foot tall, 30-foot long, 200,000-pound sand sculpture of ferocious dinosaurs outside the IMAX 3D Theatre at Broadway at the Beach in Myrtle Beach, S.C., has been named one of "America's 100 Best" by Reader's Digest in its May 2007 edition. Team Sandtastic built the one-of-a-kind sand sculpture at the IMAX 3D Theatre from May 17 through May 20, 2007. The sculpture depicts a scene from the IMAX 3D blockbuster film Dinosaurs 3D: Giants Of Patagonia, one of five IMAX 3D films that are playing at the theater now through the summer.

Reader's Digest's "America's 100 Best celebrates the people, places, foods, big ideas, and hidden gems that make America great," as judged by a panel of experts in each specific area. Team Sandtastic and its work was spotlighted in the "Sports & Fitness" category (http://www.rd.com/content/best-specktacle/). Their unique and spectacular dinosaur sculpture remains on display at the IMAX 3D Theatre in Myrtle Beach and can be viewed online at http://www.imax3dmyrtlebeach.com/whats_new.asp.

IMAX 3D Theatre, owned and operated by Destination Cinema, Inc., is at Broadway at the Beach, a 350-acre entertainment complex located in the heart of Myrtle Beach. The following films are playing throughout the summer:

Dinosaurs 3D: Giants of Patagonia, narrated by Hollywood legend Donald Sutherland;

Space Station 3D, the first-ever IMAX 3D space film, narrated by action-adventure star Tom Cruise;

Sharks 3D, a breathtaking new film experience presented by world-famous ocean explorer Jean-Michel Cousteau;

Deep Sea 3D, a look at sea life in the deepest depths of the ocean, narrated by award-winning actors Johnny Depp and Kate Winslet; and

Wild Safari 3D, the first-ever 3D wildlife film experience.
