The Living Battle Of Suicide
Benefit concert in Las Vegas for suicide prevention reaches out.
Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) July 13, 2007 -- International Suicide Prevention in Las Vegas is hosting a "Summer Concert Under the Stars" at Henderson Pavilion on July 28 to help educate the general population and help post-suicide families with grief counseling and provisions.
The President and founder of International Suicide Prevention, a nonprofit organization, Matthew Dovel, is also an author being interviewed on 20/20 tonight for his near-death experiences. Matthew's book, entitled "My Last Breath", opens the minds of many as the journey of his experiences gives hope. He has been a suicide prevention expert for over 20 years. Matthew commented, "Very few people know that over one million people commit suicide each year. The need for education about this preventable cause of death is essential; more sponsors are desperately needed for this event as suicide is on the rise!"
Featured singer/songwriter, Tricia Greenwood, originally from Buffalo, New York, residing in the Bay Area of California, performs her original music for this benefit concert. Tricia lost her mother to suicide as a teenager at 15 and her only son to suicide just last year, Tricia said. "I am convinced that suicide is the most painful way to lose someone you love, I will continue to donate and help support ISP because what they are doing is helping people through the hardest times of a person's life."
