Harcourt Assessment Introduces the Harcourt Workplace Personality Inventory

New solution assesses 16 key work styles and work-related personality traits.

San Antonio, TX (PRWEB) July 26, 2007 -- Harcourt Assessment, Inc., a leading talent assessment company, today introduced the Harcourt Workplace Personality Inventory (HWPI). The HWPI is an innovative assessment based around 16 key work styles shown to be important to job success in a wide range of occupations. The HWPI also contains an "Unlikely Virtues" scale designed to identify individuals who present an overly favorable image of themselves in responding to questions.

"Having a complete understanding of a recruit's fit for a position requires an understanding of a candidate's key competencies," said Harcourt Assessment Vice President of Human Resources Phillip Weiss. "Hiring individuals with the personal style that best meet the needs of a position reduces turnover and increases productivity. With the use of the HWPI, employers can identify hires that match the requirements of specific positions, but also match the culture of their organization."

The HWPI measures 16 work styles and personality competencies, including:

  • Achievement/effort
  • Initiative
  • Cooperation
  • Social Orientation
  • Stress tolerance
  • Dependability
  • Integrity/Dutifulness
  • Innovation
  • Persistence
  • Leadership Orientation
  • Concern for Others
  • Self-Control
  • Adaptability/Flexibility
  • Attention to Detail
  • Independence
  • Analytical Thinking

The questions on the HWPI are designed to be clearly related to the workplace and are seen as "face valid" by candidates. The scoring scales provided with HWPI can easily be mapped to match job requirements and competencies for a wide range of occupations.

While only taking 20 minutes to administer, HWPI provides recruiters and hiring managers with comprehensive results that are valid and reliable, as well as easy to interpret. Specific norms are available for managers and customer service personnel, while general norms are available for working adults across many occupations and organizational levels.
