The Pearl Hotel, San Diego Announces August 30th Opening

New "Affordable Luxe" Boutique Hotel Debuts for Labor Day Weekend

San Diego, CA (PRWEB) July 31, 2007 -- L.W.P. Group, Inc., an award-winning residential and commercial real estate developer, has announced an August 30, 2007 opening date for The Pearl Hotel, San Diego, a 23-room mid-priced boutique property. Currently, The Pearl is in the final stages of a significant conversion process, which began last December. Once completed, the hotel, its poolside lounge and theater, and adjoining Restaurant at The Pearl, will sport a seamless balance of contemporary and vintage-modern design. Combined, these environs are expected to add unique flair to an area already brimming with natural character and beauty.

Located in San Diego's historic Point Loma section, The Pearl Hotel was redeveloped by L.W.P. Group, with exterior and interior redesign by local firms Perisic Design Studio and Onairos Design, respectively. Vital to the look and feel of these efforts was conveying the hotel's "Down to Earth, Up with Style" mantra, which welcomes leisure and business travelers, and local clientele, to bask in a fun, fashionable and accessible brand of cosmopolitan comfort.

By defying the ultra-priced approach trend of many boutique hotels--without compromising service or style--we've positioned The Pearl as an escape to mid-priced, affordable luxe and easygoing elegance
The Pearl is now accepting online reservations for stays beginning August 30, 2007. Effective immediately, and through September 30th, travelers booking at www.thepearlsd.com will enjoy special online-only introductory rates starting at $139--just in time for Labor Day weekend and the fall travel season. Typical rates at The Pearl Hotel range from $159 to $229, along with a daily, scenester-friendly "Play & Stay" rate of $79+tax (after midnight) to encourage revelry and responsibility.

"By defying the ultra-priced approach trend of many boutique hotels--without compromising service or style--we've positioned The Pearl as an escape to mid-priced, affordable luxe and easygoing elegance," said Gregory L. Strangman, CEO of L.W.P. Group, Inc. "From our room rates to our sophisticated restaurant and bar, we hope to be a welcome alternative to the fiscal stratosphere."

"DOWN TO EARTH, UP WITH STYLE"
The Pearl is an intimate, visual pleasure--in-room and property wide--enriched by an array of natural materials, soothing colors and reverent oceanic motifs. Collectively, these ingredients honor Point Loma's maritime roots, Southern California's vintage and progressive design, and San Diego's contemporary cool. Visitors to The Pearl will enjoy these defining features:

-- GUESTROOMS. The freshly renovated guestrooms at The Pearl--named The Gem, The Jewel and The Strand--ascend in size and are designed for individuality. Several units boast poolside views, alternative design takes, and upgraded furnishings. All rooms possess free wireless Internet service, the Roku SoundBridge Internet Radio Player, and 32- or 42-inch LCD television with HBO. Standard features include sturdy king or queen platform beds with high thread-count sheets, designer seating by Kartell and EQ3, and vintage-modern desk, chair, and table lamps. Meanwhile, the fully-tiled bathrooms feature freestanding showers (select units), Spa H2O™ bath products, luxurious cotton towels, contemporary chrome fixtures, and wide-width mirrors.

-- WATER WALLS. The wall-mounted TVs are only part of continuous wall-to-wall excitement. Most guestrooms also are appointed with a floor-to-ceiling mosaic bearing oceanic themes and made of ornate tile and wallpaper. Meanwhile, vibrant aquatic life resides in wall-hanging fishbowls. Each tropical fish has its own nameplate to complete a whimsical way of adding pet friendliness, while also referencing The Pearl's proximity to San Diego Bay.

-- DINE/DRINK/LOUNGE. Restaurant at The Pearl (opening September 22), the beautifully designed bar, lounge and eatery, features metropolitan-minded, globally-focused cuisine, matched with expertly selected beers and wines, and eclectic cocktails. Chef Corey Heath (Citronelle - Santa Barbara, Washington DC), a disciple of cooking legend Michel Richard, has created versatile menus that invite diners to enjoy delicious entrées and creative appetizers influenced by local specialties, Mexico, South Beach Miami, Japan and beyond.

-- POOLSIDE LOUNGE/THEATER. The Pearl's vintage, oyster shell swimming pool (saltwater) is surrounded by semi-private poolside cabanas, which accommodate parties up to eight and can be reserved for outdoor dining and bottle service. The setting--beside the warm glow of Restaurant at The Pearl--lends itself to low-key and full-throttle private and corporate celebrations, including birthdays, wedding occasions and more. Guests will enjoy the fresh twist on scenic San Diego views provided by the 10-foot projection screen overlooking the pool.

-- SIGNATURE HAPPENINGS. The Pearl will be an event-driven environment. Guests can expect Monday through Friday happy hours featuring food and drink specials; semi-weekly "exhibition" sushi preparations; and monthly wine tastings. Other weekly events include "Dive-In" movies at the poolside lounge and theater, and weekend poolside socials overflowing with sexy soundscapes curated by San Diego's nightlife institutions Onyx Room and Thin Room.

The Pearl immediately benefits from its location one block from San Diego Bay, five minutes from the airport and 10 minutes from downtown San Diego attractions. Based on close proximity to active waters, Point Loma maintains its reputation as boating community, while also enjoying a high-character mix of exclusive residential living, friendly neighborhood businesses and familiar commercial conveniences. The Pearl Hotel is owned and operated by L.W.P. Group, Inc. For more information visit www.thepearlsd.com.
