Commerce Color Provides Specialty Wall Graphics for New MOTO Museum

St. Louis interior architects The Lawrence Group needed an inventive solution to divide a cavernous space and provide interior signage for the new MOTO Museum in St. Louis, Missouri. Specialty graphics from Commerce Color came through with flying colors.

St. Louis, MO (PRWEB) August 6, 2007 -- The MOTO Museum in St. Louis, Missouri recently opened its doors to the public with its inaugural exhibition, "The History of the Motorcycle." The exhibition chronicles the evolution and design of motorcycles spanning 100 years and includes 100 motorcycles manufactured in over 20 different countries.

The Lawrence Group Architects, an architecture and interior design firm based in St. Louis, Missouri, was responsible for the museum's design.

Says Christa McCall of The Lawrence Group, "The MOTO Museum is in a building that formerly housed a commercial printer. The interior was voluminous and we were looking for something to break up the space. We also wanted to create wall signage that would provide a dramatic backdrop for the motorcycles themselves."

For their solution, they turned to Commerce Color, a grand format printing company based in St. Louis, Missouri, with whom they had worked on previous projects.

"We wanted graphics that were on a larger-than-life scale," notes McCall, who designed the vinyl banners with James Walker, also of The Lawrence Group. "Two are 12' high by 52' long and the others are slightly smaller. This is the first time we have done something this large using this material for an interior application."

Typically, the last two things to be considered in an interior design project are furniture and graphics and those choices usually end up coming down to budget. This solution was surprisingly affordable and the time frame from design concept through printing and installation was about a month.

"We were thrilled to be a part of the MOTO Museum project," notes Tom Croghan, Sales/Marketing Director for Commerce Color. "Some of the more unique outdoor and interior signage projects are conceived by some of the most creative minds in the business including architects, interior designers, creative directors and graphic designers. Christa and James' use of oversized vinyl banners as interior "walls" for the MOTO Museum project is a great example."

Located in St. Louis, Missouri, Commerce Color is a large and grand format digital printing company specializing in construction signage, light pole banners, wallscapes and building wraps, digital wallpaper, wall graphics, event signage and a wide assortment of custom vinyl banners. Commerce Color helps companies communicate their message in a big way.
