It's important for the public to be educated about criminal law and procedure, because misunderstandings about rights and requirements often lead people to make critical errors when questioned or arrested. - "If the police didn't read me my rights, they have to drop the charges." If an adult has a juvenile criminal history and has not taken specific action to seal those records, they are very likely still available.
Many also misunderstand the definition of entrapment, do not know at what point they are entitled to attorneys, and don't understand that in the absence of some very specific circumstances, police may not search their property without a warrant and they do not have to agree to such a search--but that if they do agree, any evidence discovered may be used against them.
