The new video, Dance Vivaldi: A Contemporary Baroque Ballet , presents a fascinating modern expression of the great tradition of 17th century French Baroque dance. Choreographer Marie-Geneviève Massé dissolves the boundaries between past and present, blending delicate French Baroque technique with the vibrant motion of contemporary dance. As traditional boundaries are eliminated, a new movement merger is introduced.

The DVD features Vivaldi's The Four Seasons, so the concepts and phrasing of the choreography are in perfect concert with the musical imagery. In sensitive synchronization, the dancers' movements reflect the musical themes. As with all of Vivaldi's music, the overall theme is "Time."
