Full Sail Graduate Directs Closure

Full Sail Real World Education congratulates graduate, Douglas Downing III, for serving as writer, director and producer of the recently completed film, Closure. Downing graduated from Full Sail's Film Program in 2003.

WINTER PARK, FL (PRWEB) January 12, 2007 -- Full Sail Real World Education congratulates graduate, Douglas Downing III, for serving as writer, director and producer of the recently completed film, Closure. Downing graduated from Full Sail's Film Program in 2003.

After graduating from Full Sail, Downing moved to New York and made two short films, The Last Days of Innocence and A Boy Named Death. Downing wrote the script for the film with Luis Garcia, a casting assistant who has worked on many films including Syriana. Garcia wrote Closure as an off-Broadway play that Downing thought would be ideal for his first feature film.

Closure is a film that is about a young man who tries to come to terms with his past that was clouded by childhood sexual abuse. The film is expected to be featured in the 2007 film festival circuit. Downing is currently working on getting financed for his next feature, Tommy Fat, which will address teenage obesity and the conflict of being accepted.

"I chose Full Sail over other film schools because it was a thirteen-month program and it was really technical in its process," said Downing. "I got to work hands-on with different formats of film-making and learn how to use industry standard editing suites."

Full Sail's Program Director of Film, Dave Franko, said, "We are always excited to see a Full Sail graduate succeed in the industry. Full Sail's goal is to teach our students what they need to excel in their field. Douglas is an example of how Full Sail has been able to do that."

Since 1979, Full Sail Real World Education, a college outside of Orlando, FL, has been an innovative educational leader for those pursuing a career in the entertainment industry. With over 23,000 alumni, graduate credits include work on Oscar and GRAMMY-winning projects, best-selling video games, and the #1 grossing U.S. concert tour six out of the last six years. Full
