Motorcycle Trailer Company, American Legend, Shows Promise under New Ownership

Motorcycle touring is a growing American pastime with a strong following, particularly among affluent, middle-aged Americans. Despite the steady demand for motorcycles and their accessories like customized trailers, the once prosperous American Legend company has struggled in recent years. Now under new ownership by Bob Darling and Doug Poe of Legendary Innovations, American Legend is being prepped for a series of changes to revitalize the company and its sales.

(PRWEB) January 18, 2007 -- There's an American pastime that attracts a mixed bag of people from all across the nation - doctors, lawyers, construction workers and people from all walks of life. The pastime is motorcycle touring, which is as much a philosophy as it is an activity. With thousands of riders crisscrossing the land, deliberately taking winding side roads on their way to bike rallies, roadside attractions and other destinations, there exists a steady demand for premium equipment to help make the ride safe and comfortable. Common elements of touring riders' gear are custom motorcycle trailers, but until recently, the Mahomet, Illinois-based motorcycle trailer company American Legend has struggled with stagnant sales. Bob Darling and Doug Poe of the trailer company Legendary Innovations, LLC are changing all that.

We are excited about the opportunity to support the marketplace while taking this great company to the next level
Legendary Innovations, LLC owns the design patents for their Legend and Sport Tour fiberglass motorcycle trailers that were designed in the spirit of Harley-Davidson Touring motorcycles. Managing partners Darling and Poe intend to use all of their past experience of creating and growing successful business enterprises to rejuvenate American Legend and bring the brand into the spotlight within the motorcycle touring community.

"We're taking American Legend to new heights, both nationally and internationally," explains Darling, who adds that creating a dealer network of the American Legend brand is a key phase in promoting its growth and prosperity.

Darling and Poe have stated that their intention is not to dramatically change American Legend, and that the many long-time supporters of the brand will only be able to enjoy their products more in the future. Their goals are to make American Legend more relevant and accessible, and to breathe new life into the interest and sales that will continue to strengthen the brand.

"We are excited about the opportunity to support the marketplace while taking this great company to the next level," says Poe.

American Legend currently offers fiberglass motorcycle trailers in seven classic designs, but is also capable of creating custom motorcycle trailers through a variety of options and modifications. The company offers factory color matching, two tone finishes and pinstriping to match most major motorcycle brands, and can outfit each trailer with accessories like luggage racks and spoilers to help complete the desired look.

The American Legend show truck and product displays will travel the United States in 2007, visiting several dealer expos and popular events like Daytona Beach's Bike Week and Biketoberfest, Myrtle Beach Bike Week and Sturgis Rally in Sturgis, South Dakota.
