Digital Syndicate Network Takes Haunted History Online with Soulseekers

DSN Launches Paranormal Investigation Series for the Internet

Sedona, AZ (PRWEB) October 9, 2007 -- DSN Music, a service of the Digital Syndicate Network, has launched an online video series featuring paranormal investigators known as the Soulseekers, to be featured over their popular music and multimedia portal dsnMusic.com. Based in the United Kingdom, the Soulseekers research and film ghostly activity from some of England's most haunted locations.

The debut episode features Derby Gaol, allegedly the most haunted site in the UK today. The jail ("gaol" is an old-fashioned variant of the word) was used between 1756 and 1828, where hundreds were jailed for crimes and executed, including woman and children. The Soulseekers spent the night in the Gaol, taping unexplainable events as they took place on camera.

Derby Gaol came to international attention during a visit by the popular television series Most Haunted. Derby's owner and paranormal historian Richard Felix, was asked to join the Most Haunted team after their visit, and has co-hosted the show on the UK's Living TV network. Felix immediately became a national symbol of paranormal research, and a leading historian on the subject.

In 2007, Richard Felix left Most Haunted to pursue other opportunities, including his very popular "Ghosts Of..." home video series, which follows the history of famous haunted properties such as Annesley Hall and Dudley Castle. The move to join the Soulseekers team was a no-brainer for Felix, who wanted more than just a weekly visit to the graveyard. "I think people would prefer reality rather than "Scooby-Doo" ghost hunting. Reality is far more interesting and fascinating. I think the world is ready for some serious paranormal research," said Felix.

The Soulseekers team added local researcher Stephen Wood to round up their team, and began shooting the pilot for the series. The footage is edited down into mini-TV shows and distributed as "mobisodes", which provide video to various media platforms such as Internet and mobile devices.

DSN President Guy W. Giuliano took an interest in Soulseekers as a digital brand for ghostly entertainment, "we were looking for niche programming to produce for DSN, and hit the jackpot! Downloads for paranormal videos have increased over the past 2 years, and Soulseekers really customized their content to fit this genre."

Soulseekers launched over DSN on October 1st, just in time for the Halloween media blitz, and will also be syndicated via other web portals worldwide. Download the latest mobisode of Soulseekers via dsnMusic.com
