Family Man Unveils a Deep Secret to Protect His Loved Ones in the Wild West in C.E. Edmonson's new novel "Peacemaker of the Pecos"

C.E. Edmonson's new novel "Peacemaker of the Pecos" is an action-packed tale about a farmer who is willing to do whatever it takes to return peace to his community.

Poulsbo, Wash. (PRWEB) October 22, 2007 -- When a greedy and ruthless rancher attempts to take over the sleepy prairie town of Enterprise, Texas, family man William Hart stands up for justice, defending his home in award-winning author C.E. Edmonson's thrilling new novel "Peacemaker of the Pecos" (ISBN 9781593304928, Aventine Press, 2007).

"Peacemaker of the Pecos" is a classic Western story that tosses in just enough history, adventure and romance to attract eager readers outside of the Wild West fan base, along with die-hard Western enthusiasts. Just as the Civil War's lingering turmoil has begun to die down, new trouble starts to brew in West Texas' Pecos County. Callous gunmen in long, dusty trail coats ride into to Enterprise, mercilessly terrorizing the small town.

An evil land baron, bent on taking over the county, and eliminating anyone that tries to stop him, hired the gunmen to bully Pecos County into submission, but he didn't count on the most unlikely of heroes: farmer William Hart. Hart was known as a compassionate father and husband, not a man of action. But Hart holds a shocking secret, hidden so deeply, that even his wife and son are completely unaware of it.

Hart takes on a quest to bring the gunmen and their boss to justice, and to return peace to Pecos County. In order to take on the bad guys and become the "Peacemaker of the Pecos," however, Hart must reveal his long-hidden secret. His one-man war for justice leads to a life-and-death struggle for survival. And then the unthinkable happens.

The Mid-West Book Review enthusiastically states that "Peacemaker of the Pecos" is "well written and well edited. If you enjoy true-to-life westerns, you will enjoy this novel." Kirkus Discoveries raves that this book is "an engrossing tale, led by an engaging and sympathetic protagonist." Russell Johnson, co-star of the 1953 classic Western "Law and Order" adds, "The Old West is full of compelling stories of heroes and villains, and C.E. Edmonson brings us a great one with Peacemaker of the Pecos." Filled with heart-pounding suspense and courage in the face of danger, "Peacemaker of the Pecos" is a timeless story with a genuine old-fashioned hero.
