G-Star Rising with 'Dead End Falls'

New Indie film company G Star Media to release three action/thrillers a year. First film out is twisted thriller "Dead End Falls," to be pre-sold at American Film Market 2007.

Hollywood, CA (PRWEB) October 25, 2007 -- G Star Media proudly announces its first domestic feature, "Dead End Falls," from international producer/actress Gouzalia Sharaf. The film is a twisted thriller that explores life and death beyond the Dead End.

Set to lens this winter in the starkly beautiful high desert area of Southern California, the film stars Sharaf, whose acting credits Last year saw her move into comedy with two stoner films by Jason Quinn, "Luther's Magic Weed" and "Pot Circle."

Also set for the film is filmmaker/actor Damian Chapa ("Under Siege," "El Padrino"), fresh off his acclaimed David Carradine feature "Fuego."

Sharaf will also be producer of the film, whose past credits in that area include "Woodwitch" and acting as assistant director on the Quinn films. She will be at the American Film Market in Los Angeles starting Oct. 31 with the Andrew Crandall-penned script.

"Dead End Falls," both a destination and a metaphor, hides many secrets both on the surface and hidden within. When a Russian girl named Sasha embarks on a private rendezvous, she discovers that there is no escaping the truth. Forced to keep a deadly secret and balance an unhappy married life, Sasha will have to survive more than her own demons in this skillfully intertwined tale of love, lies, and deceit.

G Star Media (www.gstarmedia.com) is based in Culver City, Calif. and is gearing up to produce two to three films a year in the thriller and action categories. But with as many twists and chillingly real characters as a good Hitchcock film.

"My films will have all the action and suspense of the genres, but we aspire to more depth of character and the range of human emotions when ordinary people are placed in extraordinary circumstances," said Sharaf. "You don't really care about the explosion; you care about the person standing next to it."

Sharaf, a former top model, is a native of Uzbekistan and moved Los Angeles in 2005 from New York to be at the epicenter of movie making industry. This year she appeared in Jeff Leroy's "Killer Rats," and Lemar Scott's "Thread."

In "Dead End Falls," a torn marriage uncovers a plot to traffic girls into the United States, who can be trusted? The desert heat rises as a Russian girl named Sasha swears to protect her friend Victoria's secrets while having a few of her own. Michael, a private business owner, will do anything to stop information linking him to the illegal operation. Seemingly in love, Sasha takes her private affair into a desert getaway. Sasha realizes that her love affair with Lenny was not opportune and he leaves her for dead in the midst of the desert sand, and she will discover that trust is a matter of perception. In a tale of twisted love affairs and lies, Sasha must find a way to reveal the truth about who she thought she was and risk it all to save those she have never met.
