JibJab Declares WAR On E-Cards!

World famous Internet creative studio takes aim at online greetings with the launch of JibJab Sendables™

Venice, CA (PRWEB) October 25, 2007 -- JibJab, the Internet comedy pioneers behind more viral video hits than any other independent or traditional entertainment studio, today announced that it is entering the online greetings business with the launch of JibJab Sendables™ (http://www.JibJab.com/sendables).

"E-cards today are lame," said JibJab co-founders and brothers Evan and Gregg Spiridellis. "We're working with the best storytellers and artists in the world to give people an alternative to the dancing bears and bunnies they'll find on competitors' websites."

There are over 200 JibJab Sendables greetings available at launch with topics ranging from birthdays, holidays, and anniversaries, to less traditional categories like flirts and disses. Prices range from $0.50 to $3 each and, for a limited time only, the company is giving away $5 of free promotional credits to everyone who signs up for an account at http://www.JibJab.com/.

"There has been an explosion of online communication channels and an absence of quality programming to help people better express themselves," said the JibJab brothers. "We intend to fill that gap by combining our experience producing for the web with our network of exceptionally talented writers and artists."

JibJab Sendables™ is the company's second venture outside the realm of political satire and viral videos. In August 2007, they launched 'Starring You!™' which enables users to upload photos of themselves and put their heads into JibJab movies. Since then, people have uploaded and cut out over 1.3 million heads and spent over 10 million minutes (nearly 20 years) using the application. CNET's News.com dubbed it "The Greatest Office Time-Waster in History".

JibJab has been innovating digital programming and distribution for the past eight years. They have entered distribution partnerships with Yahoo! and MSN, produced branded entertainment for Anheuser-Busch and Verizon Wireless, and premiered ten videos on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno". In March 2007, they premiered a media satire, entitled "What We Call the News", in front of the President of the United States at the Radio and Television Correspondents Dinner in Washington, DC. The company recently closed a Series B funding with Polaris Venture Partners.

About JibJab Media
JibJab is a digital comedy studio founded by brothers Evan and Gregg Spiridellis in 1999. The company achieved international fame in 2004 with its political parodies, "This Land" and "Good to be in DC!," which were seen more than 80 million times on every continent (including Antarctica). NASA even contacted the brothers for a copy of "This Land" to send to the International Space Station! JibJab has grown considerably since then and today is comprised of the best artists, technologists and business people, working hard to change the way comedy is created, produced, and distributed - all with fewer employees than the cafeteria of your local mega-media conglomerate.
