Vincent Price to be Inducted into the Halloween Hall of Fame

The legendary "voice" of Halloween, Vincent Price will forever be part of the history behind Halloween as the first person voted into the Halloween Hall of Fame.

Dania Beach, FL (PRWEB) October 31, 2007 -- The Halloween Hall of Fame, an organization dedicated to honoring people who have contributed to the history behind Halloween, announced today that Vincent Price will be inducted into their Hall of Fame.

Price, best known in Halloween trivia for his distinctive, low-pitched ominous voice and his quizzical facial expressions, is the first person publicly voted into the Hall of Fame. He joins the existing hall of famers who have contributed to the history behind Halloween and include Lon Chaney, Jr., Bobby (Boris) Picket, Bela Lugosi, Elvira and Boris Karloff.

"Almost everyone has heard of Vincent Price and, if Halloween had a voice, it would be his," said Halloween Hall of Fame founder Harold Maxwell. "Vincent Price is a perfect addition to this organization honoring the history behind Halloween."

Each year, the Halloween Hall of Fame board recommends a handful of nominees. The nominees are then added to the Halloween Hall of Fame website where the public votes on the winner. Price won this year's vote by a landslide, receiving 58.8% of the votes.

Groups or individuals are qualified for induction if they have demonstrable influence and significance to the Halloween holiday, movies, culture, and costumes or are generally considered to be a part of Halloween trivia or the history behind Halloween.

Next year's nominees include Jamie Lee Curtis, Ed Wood, Mary Shelley, Rick Baker, Wes Craven, Tim Burton, Sam Rami, Vlad III The Impaler, Fred Gwynne and John Carpenter. Halloween enthusiasts and Halloween trivia buffs can learn more about the history behind Halloween, check out their bios and vote for the next inductee at http://www.HalloweenHallofFame.org.
