Grand Opening - The City of Regina Hosts Ribbon Cutting Ceremony of their State of the Art Landfill Gas Collection System

Bio-Mass to Bio-Fuels

Regina, SK, Canada (PRWEB) November 2, 2007 -- The City of Regina held its grand opening of the Landfill Gas Collection system on October 29, 2007 to acknowledge the various engineers and contractors responsible for deploying the Gas Collection System at the Fleet Street Landfill in their city. SHEC was in attendance to enlighten interested parties of the company's future usage of the landfill gas and explain the intricacies of the technology. SHEC plans to use the landfill gas collected from the collection system installed in Regina's Fleet Street Landfill to produce clean, green, renewable hydrogen as well as the ability to produce Bio Fuels using solar energy.

"(This Project) gives us immediate environmental benefits but in the longer term, we're looking for some business and financial benefits and that's the partnership we're embarking on with SHEC. We actually have a product that has some value we can sell and can be turned into some other products that are much more useful in the longer term." said Mr. Derrick Bellows, The City of Regina's acting General Manager of sewer water and waste management.

"I wish to thank the City of Regina, the engineers, contractors and all the people involved in making this possible. It is apparent that this City has in the past and has today a vision for a cleaner and greener tomorrow and it is our hope that this project will motivate other cities in a more environmentally responsible direction." Said Tom Beck, President and CEO of SHEC Labs.

Ray Fehr Vice President of Marketing for SHEC Labs said "We have been working with the City for a number of years to move this project forward and it is gratifying to see it come though to fruition. It is only with similar goals and common ideals that make a project of this magnitude possible and the City of Regina should be commended."

The Solar Hydrogen Production Station, SHEC Station #1, is currently in the design phase with the first phase deployment planned in the second quarter of 2008.
