Jeanne Marie Spicuzza and Julie Dash Gear Up for "The Scarapist"

Director Julie Dash and actress, poet Jeanne Marie Spicuzza to shoot new thriller "The Scarapist" in 2008.

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) November 13, 2007 -- Directors Guild of America-Award nominated writer, director Julie Dash and actress, poet Jeanne Marie Spicuzza get ready for psychological thriller "The Scarapist." Production is scheduled for early 2008.

The story, penned by Spicuzza, describes a chilling, real-life tale of depravity, deceit and betrayal.

"The Scarapist" is the first of three upcoming releases for Seasons & a Muse, Inc. Drama "Making Angels," also directed by Dash, and "Breath of God," a biopic based on the life of medieval abbess and composer Hildegard von Bingen, portrayed by Spicuzza, are set to follow.

Dash is represented by Andrew Howard of Incognito Entertainment. Spicuzza spearheads production outfit Seasons & a Muse, Inc.

Jeanne Marie Spicuzza: a poet, screenwriter, producer and actress, Ms. Spicuzza has performed internationally at festivals and venues like Lollapalooza, Ladyfest, Pabst Theatre, The Green Mill and Nuyorican Poets Cafe. She has appeared live on BBC Radio, WMSE, ROR FM Italia and others. Her films have screened at the Wisconsin Film Festival, Women in the Director's Chair, Portobello Film Festival and more. A graduate of University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Ms. Spicuzza appears in publications like 'Poetry Motel,' 'Shepherd Express' and 'Riverwest Review.' She is the star of "Naked," "Field Day" and others, and currently lives in Los Angeles.

Julie Dash: an award-winning director, writer and producer, Ms. Dash's debut feature film "Daughters of the Dust" was named as one of the 50 most important independent films ever made by 'Filmmaker Magazine' and was entered into the National Registry in 2005. Ms. Dash also directed the 2003 NAACP Image Award winning "The Rosa Parks Story," starring Angela Bassett. Other films include "Love Song," "Incognito," "Diary of an African Nun" and more. A New York native and graduate of American Film Institute and University of California Los Angeles, Ms. Dash resides in Los Angeles.
