John Robert Powers Modeling and Acting School Students Take Top Awards at iPOP! Las Vegas Convention
Las Vegas Hotel Venetian Hosts the Talent Showcase for the First Time.
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) November 6, 2007 -- John Robert Powers acting and modeling school John Robert Powers Official Site students from Atlanta, New York, Chicago, Miami and San Diego dominated the acting, modeling singing and dancing competition at last July's iPOP! (International Presentation of Performers) Convention held in Las Vegas. The spectacular Las Vegas hotel and casino, Venetian played host to the iPOP! bi-annual event for the first time with much success.
iPOP! organizers were thrilled with the welcome that Nevada Governor, Jim Gibbons and Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman gave to the nearly 1200 iPOP! aspiring actors, models, singers and dancers who arrived full of hopes to become America's next big star. Participants ranged in ages from six to twenty-five years old. Combined with the parents and chaperones the iPOP! talent show was attended by well over 2500 people which also included acting and modeling agents, managers, and casting directors. The contestants flew into Las Vegas to take advantage of the once in a life time opportunity to have a singing, dancing, modeling and acting audition and be coached by the entertainment industry's top agents, managers and talent scouts. Top modeling agencies and many other entertainment companies like William Morris Agency, Universal Music Group, Geffen Records, Hollywood Records, iModels, Brown Leader Management and Elite Models sent their best talent scouts to iPOP! iPOP! Choreographers, Jeri Slaughter and Paul Morente were the highlight at the iPOP! Las Vegas and they lead the iDance iPOP! division. With a degree in dance and theatre, this dance choreography team has collectively amassed credits and accolades that have made them ingenious innovators in their field. They have appeared in dozens of commercials, sharing the stage with artist such as Janet Jackson and Jennifer Lopez and most recently worked on Christina Aguilera's last world concert tour and her "Dirrty" music video which garnered nominations and wins at the VMAs. As actors and dancers, Slaughter and Morente have had guest-starring roles in top shows like "Friends" and "Will and Grace" and are currently developing a sitcom.
