Got Water? A Virtual Auction to Raise Money for Water Projects in Africa

African Well Fund's 3rd Annual Got Water? Virtual Auction runs on Ebay through Nov. 18th. It features a variety of celebrity autographed items. 100 % of the proceeds will be used to fund water and sanitation projects in Africa.

Schenectady, NY (PRWEB) November 14, 2007 -- The African Well Fund is excited to announce the third annual Got Water? Virtual Auction for Africa. Beginning November 12th, a variety of donated items will be available for bidding on African Well Fund's eBay auction page (http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZtheafricanwellfund) with 100 percent of all proceeds from the auction being used to fund water projects in Africa. The auction runs through November 18th.

During the auction, all of the items for bid will be listed on AWF's MissionFish eBay page which can be accessed through the African Well Fund homepage (www.africanwellfund.org). This year's auction features celebrity-autographed water bottles from Bono of U2, Travis Barker of Blink-182 and +44, Barry Manilow, Anti-Flag and Criss Angel, as well as other items autographed by Duran Duran, Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy, Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave, and tennis legend Ivan Lendl, in addition to many other donated items.

In the coming months, AWF's partner organization, Africare will be implementing new AWF funded projects in Liberia, Zimbabwe, Niger, Angola and Guinea. These projects will bring access to clean water and improved sanitation to thousands of people. Access to clean water saves lives; over 80 percent of disease in the developing world is related to poor drinking water and sanitation. A successful auction will not only help fund the projects listed above, but will allow us to implement new projects to reach even more people.

The African Well Fund is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization that was founded in 2002 by a group of U2 fans. Since that time, AWF has raised more than $400,000, which has been used to fund clean water and sanitation projects throughout sub-Saharan Africa. All donations to the African Well Fund go directly to Africare, one of the leading private, non-profit, charitable organizations assisting Africa.
