xchange and Trendsmedia Present Mobile Internet World 2007 Innovation Awards
Inagural awards recognize mobile Internet industry leaders. Presented by xchange and Trendsmedia at Mobile Internet World, Nov. 13- 15.
Boston, MA (PRWEB) November 15, 2007 -- xchange magazine and Trendsmedia, the events and publishing division of the Yankee Group, this week presented the Mobile Internet World 2007 Innovation Awards to four distinguished recipients at the Mobile Internet World Conference and Expo, Nov. 13-15, in Boston.
The inaugural awards recognized leaders in the development and deployment of mobile Internet technologies. Nominations were open to all providers and vendors of mobile Internet technology and applications were selected by a judging panel of experts from the wireless community. In its first year, the awards program received more than 110 nominations, demonstrating the rapid expansion of the mobile Internet field.
The winners were recognized at a ceremony following the close of the first day's convention sessions. Eliot Weinman, president of Trendsmedia, and Tara Seals, associate editor of xchange, presented the awards in four categories. The winners will be featured in the January 2008 issue of xchange magazine and on the Mobile Internet World and xchange Web sites.

- Most Innovative Enterprise Deployment: Tropos Networks Inc. ER-Link Deployment in Tucson, Ariz.
- Most Innovative Consumer Application: Sling Media Inc. SlingPlayer Mobile
- Most Innovative Consumer Deployment: Opera Software Opera Mini
The runners-up included:
- Most Innovative Enterprise Application: SMobile Systems Security Shield
- Most Innovative Enterprise Deployment: TeleNav Deployment of TeleNav Track with Swedish Medical Center
- Most Innovative Consumer Application: PixSense PSP Platform and SpinVox's Social Networks through SpinVox
- Most Innovative Consumer Deployment: Nokia Widsets
The winners were selected by an independent judging panel, including Zeus Kerravala, senior vice president enterprise research, Yankee Group; Joseph Ferra, chief wireless officer and senior vice president, Fidelity Investments; Peter White, principal analyst and founder, Rethink Research Associates Ltd.; Nino Tarantino, principal, T4 Advisory; Michael Khalilan, chairman and president, IMS Forum; and representatives from xchange and Trendsmedia.
