Former NENA Executive Director Joins e-Copernicus as VP for Business Development

Martin is the former Executive Director of the National Emergency Number Association (NENA), a 7000-member organization dedicated to the advancement of 9-1-1 service, where he has worked for the past three years. Martin is the former Executive Director of the National Emergency Number Association (NENA), a 7000-member organization dedicated to the advancement of 9-1-1 service, where he has worked for the past three years. Mr. Martin brings wide-ranging experience with organizational advancement in the public safety and emergency communications industries to his new role.

Prior to serving as Executive Director of NENA, Martin worked as Partnership Director for the COMCARE Emergency Response Alliance and served for ten years before that as Executive Director for the National Academies of Emergency Dispatch (NAED), an organization dedicated to promoting education, training, and recognition for emergency medical, fire, and police communication professionals. Martin has developed and managed diverse programs for conferences, international standard setting, committee work, and membership development. He was also founding editor of the National Journal of Emergency Dispatch and program manager for the Navigator and EuroNavigator emergency dispatch management conferences.
Mr. Martin is an active community advocate, volunteer, and is a past chapter president and district board member for the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), and past chapter board member for the citizenship education non-profit Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge. He is a certified Emergency Number Professional (ENP) and holds a bachelors degree in business marketing from the University of Utah and a Masters of Professional Communication degree from Westminster of Salt Lake City.
