Paper Bag Records is a Canadian independent record label based out of Toronto, Ontario. It was founded in 2002 by Enrique Soissa and Trevor Larocque. The label was originally created to focus specifically on Toronto-area indie rock music, such as Broken Social Scene, Stars, and Tokyo Police Club. However, they recently branched out to the European indie rock scene, signing artists such as Denmark's Under Byen and Sweden's Sally Shapiro. In August 2007, Paper Bag Records was voted #14 on a list of best indie labels in XLR8R magazine, beating out much larger labels.
