San Francisco, CA (Billboard Publicity Wire/PRWEB ) December 5, 2007 -- In a rare "only in San Francisco" event, an inspired combination of talent is performing to help celebrate the life and work of rock impresario and producer Bill Graham this coming January. The Bill Graham Foundation is excited to announce it's line-up for this year's fundraising benefit performance for the foundation. The line up includes award winning performing artists Linda Ronstadt & Aaron Neville, Phil Lesh & Jackie Greene, Ramblin' Jack Elliott & Jackie Greene, Ray Manzarek & Roy Rogers, and Tuck & Patti, with a closing dance set by the Booker T. Jones Band.

This performance will be held at The Fillmore Auditorium in San Francisco, on Friday, January 11th, 2008 at 8:30 PM. Tickets are $ 100.00 General Admission with VIP Packages for $350.00. Celebrating San Francisco's rich and fertile music industry, both past and present, the foundation takes this opportunity to urge the community to remember Bill Graham on what would have been his 77th birthday on January 8th. Bill is fondly remembered worldwide as one of the most forward-thinkers of the concert industry who became one of the country's first inventive concert producers and promoters.

After fleeing Nazi Germany with his sisters and serving in the U.S. Army in Korea, he settled in San Francisco and studied business. Leaving a corporate job, he managed the San Francisco Mime Troupe before moving on to present large concerts and entertainment in his own clubs, including the Fillmore.

Revered by many in the music and entertainment industry, The Bill Graham Foundation was formed in November of 1991, following Bill's untimely death. A supporting foundation of the Jewish Community Endowment Fund, the foundation is a non-endowed public charity that is funded through individual contributions and support from the company Bill created, Bill Graham Presents. The foundation is guided by an advisory board consisting of Bill's sons, several former long-time employees of Bill Graham Presents, and a number of current employees and close friends.

The mission of the Bill Graham Foundation is to give grants primarily in the areas of music, the arts and education, while also supporting social work, environmental protection, and spiritual and compassionate projects in our community.

In this spirit, the Bill Graham Foundation seeks to assist those whose needs are oftentimes not served by larger philanthropic organizations.
