Only 30 pieces were made each of Urban Tulip's 12 pieces limited edition t-shirt collection.
The tees were made in New York City. The collection is available through select specialty boutiques as well as company's online store.
The t-shirts are designed and hand accessorized by Muge Yukseloglu who studied fashion design at Fashion Institute of Technology in New York.
Combining casual-cuts with unusual trims gives the garment its unique look and feel. The tulips are hand drawn and screen printed on a separate fabric which is later sewn-on to tees. The designer whose choice of trims is mostly combination of muslin and tulle says "Muslin because it is so pure and natural, it is the raw fabric and tulle because it is so transparent and true. Designing has everything to do with sensation and feelings."
"I love New York and get inspired by it very much," says Muge Yukseloglu. Her Turkish heritage inspired the designer as well as NYC. Ottomans held a special affection for tulips and therefore this flower became a symbol and even gave a period its name as "Tulip Reign". When these elements were combined, the result was Urban Tulip tees.
