Major Motion Picture First: Christian Small Group Video Curriculum Developed Exclusively for 'The Kite Runner'

"The Kite Runner" is the first motion picture to launch Lifetogether Publishing's "Faith in Film" series. (Free downloadable discussion guides with video commentaries) Includes actual footage from the film.
Film is a powerful tool and we hope to see Studios continue this trend of producing films that are both inspirational and entertaining.

Hollywood, CA (PRWEB) December 17, 2007 -- Lifetogether Publishing, in association with Grace Hill Media, will release the very first video curriculum developed specifically for Christian small groups based on Paramount Classics' extraordinary motion picture, The Kite Runner. As part of the new Faith in Film series, the curriculum explores familiar themes of friendship, betrayal, guilt and forgiveness.

The video curriculum incorporates The Kite Runner film footage with inspirational commentary by host David Allan Donah. This free program is located at http://www.wingclips.com/kiterunner where pastors, small group leaders and book clubs can download both the video and print curriculum. A separate Leader's Guide includes deeper insights and coaching tips to maximize the small group experience.

Prior to beginning the group study, participants are encouraged to see this exceptional film in theatres. Opening in selected markets on December 14, and nationwide on December 21, special group pricing is available thru Paramount Group Sales via phone 877.PAR.GRPS or email group_sales @ paramount.com. The film is rated PG-13.

"We are pleased to produce Bible study materials that allow people to explore their faith through film," said John Nill, president of Lifetogether Publishing. "Film is a powerful tool and we hope to see Studios continue this trend of producing films that are both inspirational and entertaining."

Based on one of the most acclaimed novels in recent memory, The Kite Runner is a profoundly emotional tale of friendship, family, devastating mistakes and redeeming love. In a divided country on the verge of war, two childhood best friends, Amir and Hassan, are about to be torn apart forever. It's a glorious afternoon in Kabul and the skies are bursting with the exhilarating joy of an innocent kite-fighting tournament. But in the aftermath of the day's victory, one boy's fearful act of betrayal will set in motion a catastrophe ... and an epic quest for redemption. Now, after 20 years of living in America, Amir returns to a perilous Afghanistan under the Taliban's iron-fisted rule to face the dark secrets that still haunt him and take one last daring chance to set things right.

Golden Globe-nominated director Marc Forster (STRANGER THAN FICTION, FINDING NEVERLAND and MONSTER'S BALL) brings to life Khaled Hosseini's bestseller on the screen with a globally diverse cast and crew, mixing a remarkable group of non-actors from Afghanistan and Central Asia with an accomplished international cast, and shooting on location in the Western Chinese desert bordering Afghanistan. The result is a journey into a new world -- through a universal human story that speaks to anyone who has ever yearned for a second chance to make a change and find forgiveness.

DreamWorks Pictures, Sidney Kimmel Entertainment and Participant Productions present The Kite Runner, a Sidney Kimmel Entertainment Production and Parkes/MacDonald Production released by Paramount Classics. Directed by Marc Forster, The Kite Runner is written by David Benioff (TROY, STAY) and is based on Khaled Hosseini's best-selling book. The film is produced by William Horberg (COLD MOUNTAIN, THE TALENTED MR. RIPLEY), Walter F. Parkes (GLADIATOR, CATCH ME IF YOU CAN), Rebecca Yeldham (THE MOTORCYCLE DIARIES) and E. Bennett Walsh (KILL BILL). Executive producers are Sidney Kimmel, Laurie MacDonald, Sam Mendes and Jeff Skoll.

The film will be released on December 14 in selected markets and December 21 nationwide. The film is rated PG-13 for strong thematic material including the sexual assault of a child, violence and brief strong language.
