"Double Lock Your Mind" is a show designed to expose listeners to the many bands out there who are not afraid to experiment with new styles of music that keep listeners on their toes. Styles of music played on this new show include, but are not limited to psych-folk, post-punk, kraut rap, free jazz, skronk, doom metal, power ambient noise rock, now wave and industrial field recordings.
"There is so much music out there, and a lot of it is strange in a really insightful way," explains The Surgeon General, who has previously hosted a freeform rock show and a world music show. He was also the host of the show "Continuous Hit Music" on Brown Student & Community Radio. "The show's title comes from an epic song by Onedia. They're a great example of a band that draws from a wide array of influences without losing their unique focus. They're constantly evolving, and they're doing it all on their own terms. That's the type of music I'll be playing on my show."
