Hot Pepper Nasal Spray Hits Big With Consumers

The world's first hot pepper nasal spray is a big hit with consumers in a variety of retail venues. New data from Information Resources Incorporated (IRI), shows Sinus Buster hot pepper nasal spray outselling other national brands by nearly double.

Abany, NY (PRWEB) February 5, 2007 -- New data from Information Resources Incorporated (IRI), shows Sinus Buster hot pepper nasal spray outselling other national brands by nearly double. In one report from Price Chopper Supermarkets (110 store chain in the Northeast), Sinus Buster accounted for nearly 9.6% of the dollar share for the entire OTC nasal spray category throughout 2006.

SiCap Industries launched the original Sinus Buster formula in 2003 as the world's first hot pepper (Capsaicin) nasal spray. It began with the inventor, Wayne Perry, selling his new product on eBay. By the end of 2004, Perry got Sinus Buster into a handful of health food stores and pharmacies across the United States. Today this innovative product is available in more than 3,000 stores throughout the U.S. and Canada with more retailers coming aboard almost daily.

Not only do we have the fastest selling nasal spray, but we also have the most effective products on the market. Consumers love Sinus Buster. It's all natural and it works
According to Scott Latella, National Sales Director for SiCap Industries, Sinus Buster should be in 10,000 retailers by 2008.

"Not only do we have the fastest selling nasal spray, but we also have the most effective products on the market. Consumers love Sinus Buster. It's all natural and it works," adds Latella.

Like all household names before it, Sinus Buster fills a basic need affecting a majority of consumers. SiCap Industries entered the natural medicinal market with the world's first OTC nasal spray designed to relieve headache, sinus and allergy symptoms. The product quickly won over doctors and pharmacists, and consumers went wild for the spicy nasal spray. While the company barely broke 250K in sales during 2004, figures from 2006 were approaching the 2 million dollar mark.

"Our growth is unprecedented. We land new retailers everyday, and they call us. I've been a salesman for fifteen years and I've never seen a product sell like Sinus Buster. Our products sell in supermarkets, drug stores, health food shops, convenience stores, doctor's offices and even hardware stores," adds Latella.

Today, SiCap Industries manufactures a full line of hot pepper nasal sprays designed to relieve symptoms for a variety of consumer health issues. Aside from the original sinus and headache products, Sinus Buster also features natural nasal sprays for colds, weight control, smoking cessation, menstrual symptoms and even prostate health.

"Each formula is designed with a hot pepper base that's homeopathically combined with herbal tinctures such as Nettle, Licorice Root, Chaste Berry and even Maitake Mushroom extract. For instance, our prostate formula features Capsaicin along with Saw Palmetto, Pygeum, Ginseng and Pine Needle oil. It's designed to promote prostate health and help shrink a swollen prostate. Another example is our allergy formula. It features Nettle leaf as an anti-allergy agent along with the capsaicin. It's all about using the science of capsaicin to deliver medicinal herbals into the body while focusing on specific health issues," says Wayne Perry, president and founder of SiCap Industries.

Each Sinus Buster formula is registered as a homeopathic over the counter medicine under National Drug Code rules governed by the FDA.

"We created the first line of commercial capsaicin nasal sprays to be registered as official OTC products, and we've barely scratched the surface of what capsaicin can do medicinally when used in a nasal spray. We're discovering new breakthroughs all the time. This is exciting stuff," adds Perry.

With a line of eight capsaicin nasal sprays addressing major consumer health needs, Sinus Buster is poised to secure a large chunk of the North American OTC nasal spray market.
