Los Angeles, Calif. (PRWEB) February 12, 2007 -- Adventure Girl, Stefanie Michaels will be participating in the 35th Iditarod dog sled race, which takes place in Anchorage, Alaska on March 3. Beating out more than 600 bidders, Michaels won the chance to compete in the first leg of the race on day one. Teaming up with former model turned musher, Zoya de Nure, Michaels will learn the ins and outs of what it takes to be a competitor. She will also be teaming up and utilizing the exposure of this event to raise monies for cancer research. She will be riding and raising money in honor of the 4 time Iditarod winner, Susan Butcher, who tragically lost her battle with Leukemia last year.

Monies raised will benefit the Entertainment Industry Foundation- the same organization that works with Revlon for the Revlon run/walk and Katie Couric's initiative to cure colon cancer.

Stefanie is an online phenomena with a popular site, Adventuregirl.com www.adventuregirl.com)- a myspace site, which boasts more than 9,000 friends and has been downloaded more than 1.5 billion times. Michaels has written a book on adventure travel for women (available on both her site adventuregirl.com and amazon.com), called Adventure Girl's Guide to Finding Adventure...Without Breaking a Nail. A percentage of sales from her site will go to EIF.

Also teaming up to raise monies is Zazzle.com- products created by Stefanie will be sold and 20% of sales will go to EIF.

Michaels will be with her camera team in Alaska, and will be vlogging daily to her friends at Myspace and video will be launched on the adventuregirl.com site's main page though out the event from Feb. 28-March 3.
