NEW YORK, NY (PRWEB) February 9, 2007 -- BreakThru Radio (BTR), the Internet's voice of the World's Best Independent Music, will air an exclusive live session with Brooklyn singer/songwriter Anders Parker. As part of the station's continuing effort to bring its listeners unique programming, the 40 minute session recorded at Monsterland Studios features Parker in a rare, relaxed, and intimate setting.
Anders Parker is best known as the frontman of Varnaline, a band that received enthusiastic reviews and high-profile fans (most recently Steve Earle, who released the last Varnaline record on his own boutique label E-Squared/Artemis) that it became a underground sensation. For his last two albums, Tell It To The Dust and The Wounded Astronaut, he opted to record solo, harboring in a raw live sound that is perfected in the right environment. BTR brought Parker in to recreate and resurrect that recording experience, and the result is something truly remarkable.
"Anders Parker Live at Monsterland" combines two great friends, Parker (guitar and vocals) and Marc Spencer (lap steel and guitar), who both just recently played a residency at the famous New York venue The Living Room. They took time off during the day to play at Monsterland Studios, recording a full set that combines Anders rustic vocals and Spencer's seamless lap steal guitar.
"While listening to the two playing live, it's easy to hear the chemistry of what makes Anders Parker's music truly unforgettable," said Jeff Kuprycz, host of "Live at Monsterland." "Anders' voice captures the attention of any room, whether on stage, or in studio, and leaves you begging for more."
In addition, BTR will be airing another live session, this time from the other side of the ocean in the UK with five-piece band Rosalita. Called "Post-Punk pioneers" by Steve Lamacq, the band joined host DJ Anna for a 50-minute set that will be sure to make you move and groove. This session was recorded and mixed completely live at OldSchool Studios in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, UK.
