Akron, OH (PRWEB) February 15, 2007 -- Don Philabaum, founder of The Internet Strategies Group has created a new webinar series targeted to college administrators and professionals. The webinar series will feature speakers such as James Gilmore, author of The Experience Economy, John Todor, author of Addicted Customers, Ivan Misner, author of Masters of Networking and Valdis Krebs the developer of InFlow software for social and organizational network analysis.
The first webinar will educate college administrators and Alumni executives on the benefits of creating, growing, and nurturing their online social networks and directories. The authors will give their unique perspective on how their area of expertise, in combination with Internet technology can increase registrations in online communities, annual giving and capital campaigns, in addition to network their alumni. Don Philabaum, founder of The Internet Strategies Group, said, "Many colleges can't even get their graduates to register in their online communities. Most colleges and universities have less than 25 percent of their alumni registered in their online communities. Technology is available today to nearly every alumni and development office to build a stronger network of alumni. There is strong research that shows the more alumni are communicated with, the more they give, and the more frequently they give. Evidence is also showing a more connected alumni contributes more." ISG's subject matter experts will help colleges and universities gain critical insight into the strategies needed to increase the number of alumni registrants in their online communities, and ultimately financial contributions.
Social networks provide a variety of web community portal features that let users create profiles, describe their interests, share their thoughts in blogs or postings, and connect with other people, among other things. The sites also provide an excellent opportunity for web merchants to market their products and conduct market research at a low cost. "Alumni associations must be able to effectively communicate with students and alumni through the communication tools adopted by them while students. These communication tools have come to include the widely used internet--with social networks such as Friendster, Facebook and MySpace taking the lead in this burgeoning arena," said Mr. Philabaum.
