Staples Makes it Easy "Hometown Views" Photo Contest Allows Amateur Photographers to Share Snapshots of Their Hometowns and Win Great Prizes
Framingham, Mass. (PRWEB) February 22, 2007 -- Have you taken a photo of what you love most about your hometown? If so, Staples, Inc. (Nasdaq: SPLS) is making it easier to show off your hometown pride and win great photography prizes. From now until March 15, for each submission through www.staples.com/hometownviews, all entrants in the "Hometown Views" photo contest will receive coupons for one free color poster of their hometown photo - or any photo they choose - redeemable at any Staples Copy & Print Center.
As of this month, nearly 1,000 amateur photographers have submitted snapshots showing off their unique neighborhoods, from "a slow easy day in Florida" to "an amazing sunset in Croton, N.Y." to "a busy snapshot of everyday life in Portland, Ore." Approximately 40 regional finalists will be selected and receive prizes, which may include Staples gift cards and royalties of up to $5,000 from photos sold in more than 1,300 Staples stores. One grand prize winner will receive an "Ultimate Photo Vacation to Iceland."
Log on to www.staples.com/hometownviews for contest details, instructions on how to submit your entry and a complete list of rules and eligibility requirements. No purchase is necessary to enter or win. The 40 finalists and grand-prize winner will be announced in May. To make it even easier to capture an award-winning image, Staples is also featuring helpful tips provided by the experts at Nature's Best Photography Magazine on the contest Web site.
The grand prize winner will be selected by Staples with the assistance of the Professional Photographers of America (PPA), the world's oldest and largest not-for-profit association for professional photographers. PPA will also provide visitors to the contest Web site with information about how and when to select a professional photographer and how to avoid accidental copyright violations.
