Eloquent Systems Upgrades SaaS Hosting Environment; Cites Growing Demand for Specialized Libraries, Archives, Museums and Global 2000 Corporate Records Management Functions

Eloquent Systems has completed an overhaul to its hosted solutions environment, migrating it to a popular co-location data center. The recent infrastructure investment was undertaken to accommodate rising demand for Eloquent's Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) business model, as well as increasing popularity of Eloquent's solutions with end users. "As our customers deploy self-service features such as our PublicSearch™, SpiderSearch™ and VisualSearch™ tools, and syndicate access to their collections through our Automated EAD Encoding module, end-user demand for a solid 24/7 hosting environment increases," stated Merv Richter, President of Eloquent Systems.

Vancouver, BC (PRWEB) February 26, 2007 -- Eloquent Systems has completed an overhaul to its hosted solutions environment, migrating it to a popular co-location data center. Eloquent Systems provides both hosted and enterprise software versions of its popular solutions for the heritage and Global 2000 corporate records management sectors.

Eloquent's leading Automated EAD Encoding module helps with the syndication and union of collections, while providing links back to the source database for users to view the complete records and artifacts.

SpiderSearch™ is a popular HTML publishing agent that enables content within the heritage databases to be searched and indexed by common search engines such as MSN, Google and Yahoo. VisualSearch™ is a new geospatial search interface that allows researchers, historians and archivists to interpret the rich information described in a clients' collection within a geographical context by combining it with geospatial tools such as Google Maps. PublicSearch™ is Eloquent's self-service search module, allowing external researchers to search the collection through a Web interface.

"While adding a lot of value for both internal and external researchers, these features also add considerable performance pressures with respect to bandwidth and reliability," Richter added. "This is largely why our hosted solutions are becoming so popular -- libraries, archives and museums want to focus on what they do best, creating and interpreting collections -- not hosting software. Most of our clients don't want and can't afford the excessive capital and operational expenses that an elaborate hosting environment like ours provides.

"For the Global 2000 customers who have deployed our corporate records management solution, this upgrade will provide improvements in data security and operational redundancy. They'll also notice an increase in performance through better traffic routing."
