Local Songwriter Tim Mainka a.k.a Sonic Freedom® Nails Top 3 Finals In International Rock Song Contest

Tim Mainka, the singer-songwriter, musician and producer known as Sonic Freedom®, slams two new original songs together in songwriting success, both receiving honors in the SizzleFizzle DiskFaktory International Rock Song Contest, and his new song, "For The Hell of It" hits the ultimate final round for a fantastic grand prize.

Grand Rapids, MI (PRWEB) February 26, 2007 -- Tim Mainka, the singer-songwriter, musician and producer known as Sonic Freedom®, hits the top again with his new song, "For the Hell of It".

Not only did this song achieve success in this contest, but Tim Mainka's other new song, "Baby I Don't Care" was also competing in the finals of phase I. The funny thing though, Tim's song was competing against one of his own. The music industry and fans voted for "For the Hell of It" over "Baby I Don't Care" to surprise many others who thought that "Baby I Don't Care" may have had more broad commercial appeal.

Commenting on "For the Hell of It", industry pro, Curtis Lowell from MakeAStar.com, states:

"This sounds like true Valhalla music from the Gods of the North. 'Twelve arrows in our hearts, One by one they tear us apart' couplet is killer."

"For the Hell of It" is competing against two other songs that have reached the ultimate Phase III finals of the SizzleFizzle DiskFaktory International Rock Song Contest.

Voting is open to public and music industry at:

http://www.SizzleFizzle.com/contest_main.asp?rContestId=1980&rTabSlct=2&rJcnt=0&rIsFreejudge=

and ends on February 28, 2007 at 11:59:59 p.m. PT

The Contest has three phases. In each phase, a Tournament Group competes through three Rounds: Quarter- Final, Semi-Final, and Final. Tim Mainka climbed through the bracket style Tournament Groups into phase III, the ultimate final round for the grand prize.

The grand prize winner's winning song will be showcased on the upcoming "Best of MakeaStar" compilation CD, which will be sent to the A&R departments of a number of record labels. The winner receives $500 Cash plus one free DiskFaktory Super ProPak ($349.99 value.) Winners will be notified by email, mail, or overnight mail on or about March 1, 2007.

The winner is determined by the combination vote of a Panel of Music Industry Pro Judges (95% vote weight) and Fans (5% vote weight.) Judges will score each song (score of 1 through 10, 10 being best) in 3 criteria of Music, Performance and Marketability.

"For the Hell of It" was originally a spontaneous surprise in Tim Mainka's Sonic Freedom® studio.

Can you imagine combining Black Sabbath, Dream Theater, Yanni, Led Zeppelin, Motley Crue, Tim Mainka, Offspring, Rush, Sonic Freedom with a Celtic tinge?

Can you imagine the intro vocal sustaining for 23 seconds? It showcases a more progressive side of Tim Mainka's 'sonic freedom' where he experimentally pressed record to compose the tune in spontaneity, only knowing two guitar riffs and later adding in all other 'mouth-watering ear candy' with first take recordings.

One fan comments on "For the Hell Of It" expressing:

"'For the Hell Of It' is alive and fresh and has a very strong beat that rocks! I love the song, Period! One of the best songs I've heard in a long time! I keep playing it over and over." - Leo Milner, a.k.a. Mojozap

Fans and the music industry helped to advance this song over Tim Mainka's other new song, "Baby I Don't Care" which reached the final round of phase I.

Commenting on "Baby I Don't Care" industry pro, Curtis Lowell from MakeAStar.com, states:

"This Is Fun Rock Music...The vibe is way cool...Euro and trashy...panache and aplomb. You definitely have your own sound. The drums are very inventive and punky at the same time; This is fun rock music like Count Five's Psychotic Reaction or Golden Earring's Radar Love, both Golden Oldies from the Sixties."

Tim Mainka continues to amaze fans and music industry with his consistent song contest achievements. His songs consistently receive an average score above 7 out of 10 at MakeAStar.com which then qualifies him for a $10 credit at SizzleFizzle.com

Some reviewers have compared Tim's work to the works of Dave Matthews, Lenny Kravitz, Yes, the Raspberries, Jethro Tull, Count Five, Golden Earring, and Rush. You are encouraged to decide for yourself.

Is Tim Mainka is a musical genius? Leo Milner, a.k.a. Mojozap, thinks so in expressing to Tim:

"Sometimes your music to me is 'Futuristic'. You're a genius in more than just music. Your high level of intellect shows out in all you do. Not long ago I was thinking about your work and all your musical genius. I remembered when the Beatles broke up, Paul came out with his own self titled album 'McCartney' and he did all the instruments and vocals. I was shocked at his talent and skill and I compare your musical genius to his sometimes. Then when you get away from the music and just look at you from a conceptual perspective, your genius shows through again. The way you present ideas and the way you think and reflect what you do is the workings of a true unique and creative master." - Leo Milner, a.k.a. Mojozap, http://Myspace.com/mojozap

Tim Mainka, in acknowledging the support and generosity of his enthusiastic worldwide fandom - to date, members of the Sonic Freedom® community are in 36 countries worldwide - offers Annual Rock Star Autographed Guitar Giveaways. The 3rd Annual surprise is forthcoming soon.
