(PRWEB) February 28, 2007 -- Security Solutions International (SSI) (www.homelandsecurityssi.com), the nation's leading Homeland Security training and product company, will be playing a key role in the Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI) National Conference to be held in Miami from the 10-12th of April 2007. As a special presentation to the participants, SSI will be sponsoring a speaker traveling to Miami from Israel who will share information and experience on the response to suicide terrorism on the 12th of April.

"We are committed to the protection of the US, and there is no better opportunity to get our know-how out to the UASI participants and help them in their goals for this conference of sharing information and experience; we are honored to have been given this opportunity to sponsor such an important event," says Henry Morgenstern, President of SSI. "We will be sharing our know-how about terrorist modus operandi, recognizing the terrorist tools: bombs, VBIEDs, fragmentation, and their effects, suicide terror recognition and detection, responding to a suicide terror attack, force safety, and the Israeli 'Circles' concept of prevention. Many of the 400 different agencies we have trained have been aided by UASI programs."

In addition SSI, a Miami-based company, is also providing their ORMAC program (Operational Response to Mass Casualty Incidents) on April 13th as an optional additional conference day. Participants will learn from one of the world's leading experts and surgeons and a veteran of mass casualty incidents in Turkey, Nairobi, Israel and many more, the hands-on approach to preparing for acts of terror or natural disasters. The program, recognized as one of the most important training programs in the country after the planning failures in New Orleans, will give the UASI participants an opportunity to find out how their communities can best be prepared to face the challenges that could be posed.

The UASI Conference was originally conceived of as an information sharing opportunity by the Charlotte and Southeast Florida Urban Areas, who along with other UASI programs, recognized a distinct need for an effective information sharing platform. The first conference was held in Dallas, TX in 2005; supported by the Metropolitan Fire Chiefs Association. This conference was attended by fire chiefs and UASI administrative professionals who recognized the need for greater information sharing. Based on this conference, participants concluded that a larger conference was needed to provide similar information across first responder disciplines, from all UASI cities.

The 2007 National Conference expands on this idea to serve as a platform for exchange of ideas on the management of UASI programs among all disciplines. The Conference agenda is designed to attract a multi-disciplinary group of UASI participants from each Urban Area around the nation. UASI program managers and participants from all disciplines, State Administrative Agencies, federal agencies and vendors are invited to attend. Conference planners anticipate over 400 attendees with project management and subject matter representatives from each Urban Area attending.
