This exciting new show will feature great independent music from the Northwestern region of the United States.
DJ Joanna's aim is to bring BTR listeners the best new music from the Northwest, particularly but certainly not limited to the Portland and Seattle areas. She also conducts a special interview with artist Brent Knopf of Menomena during the show.
"I had a website a few years ago in Seattle that was designed to be an easy way for bands, promoters and venues to get in touch with each other," explains DJ Joanna. "Through that, I was able to learn about a lot of good bands in the Northwest. I like finding new music that is really good, but that not many people may have necessarily heard before."
In addition to the Knopf interview, this inaugural edition of "The Northwest Show" will also feature artists from local labels Reverb Records and Woodson Lateral Records. All of the bands on the show are listed on MySpace at the address http://www.myspace.com/breakthrunw.
"The Northwest Show" premieres on BTR today and will air all week. A new edition of "The Northwest Show" will air periodically on BTR. Listeners can download the show to their computer or mp3 player by visiting www.breakthruradio.com.
