Intelligent Video Appliances Provider ioimage Acquires Technology Assets of Unisor

Acquisition boosts leadership position of ioimage in intelligent video appliance market.

HERZLIYA, ISRAEL (PRWEB) March 7, 2007 -- ioimage, the pioneer of intelligent video appliances designed for simplicity, announced today it has acquired the technological assets of Unisor, a software and hardware design and manufacturing house for commercial and military markets. With the acquisition, ioimage extends its technological capabilities, broadens its offering, and reinforces its position in the defense market. The acquisition also further strengthens ioimage's status as a one-stop-shop for video analytics, while enhancing its ability to deliver new market-driven solutions quickly and effectively.

Experts in embedded design and product development, Unisor brings to ioimage a wealth of experience in the development of video transmission, data link communications, and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) solutions. The acquisition also equips ioimage with the patent pending lvm platform, a low-latency video encoder for high-end, video-based applications. Now marketed as part of the ioibox series of video encoders, the lvm platform is a high-performance, advanced miniature encoder used for remote surveillance, homeland security, defense and military organizations.

"We believe the acquisition of Unisor is important to us on several levels," said Roni Kass, CEO of ioimage. "Technologically, the acquisition complements and bolsters our already-strong R&D and end-to-end product design capabilities. Strategically, the addition of the lvm platform further diversifies our wide portfolio of video encoders, which has played an integral role in our leadership position in the intelligent video appliance market, and also strengthens our standing in the military and defense market."
