Tampa, FL (PRWEB) March 8, 2007 -- In what was a niche market for download savvy computer users, MP3 travel tours are making their way into the retail market. WhiteHot Productions announces that effective immediately, Barnes & Noble, Inc. will sell their "Great Discoveries" MP3 Personal Tour Guide products for Florence and Venice, Italy. They will be available at all U.S. retail locations as well as online at the Barnes & Noble web site. WhiteHot Productions is expected to release additional new titles in the coming year.

Using an MP3 player as a personal travel guide is the newest trend in travel today. Now people can visit a foreign city and tour museums and historical sites while devices like an iPod or cell phone take them on a tour, place by place, room by room. "It's like having your own personal National Geographic expert with you everywhere you go," said Bill Browne, company spokesman. "Cell phones now have the capacity to deliver products like ours and we wanted to be in the mainstream retail market so everyone has access to Great Discoveries."

Most museums today provide listeners with a mono listening device similar to a telephone, and speak to listeners in 20-second rather boring sound bites. These new products have changed that into an experience that is very well orchestrated, interesting and even amusing. Today, people can use an iPod or cell phone, plug in a stereo headset, select the tour they purchased, and listen to these tours complete with period-appropriate background music.

WhiteHot Productions was founded in 2004 and quickly became the market leader in MP3 personal travel tours. Their agreement with Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc. placed their travel products in various properties throughout Italy. "Great Discoveries" branded products can be purchased at amazon.com, borders.com, bn.com, booksamillion.com, powells.com, as well as at their own web site at www.audiotourguides.com
