Pod3.tv Press Release UK's Fastest Growing Video Podcast webTV Site Supports The Royal Marsden Hospital With Interactive Podcast

Pod3.tv creates an interactive audio podcast as apart of an integrated marketing and fund raising campaign by The Royal Marsden Hospital, London, to help raise funds to purchase surgical cancer "robot".

Chesham (PRWEB) March 23, 2007 -- Chesham-based video podcast WebTV company pod3.tv (formerly thamesvalleypod.tv) has created an interactive podcast to support The Royal Marsden Hospital's current fund raising campaign. It is believed to be one of the first times that a charity has used this new technology to help raise funds.

"This interactive podcast brings the clickability and trackability of banner ads to podcasts" explains Neil Fairbrother, CEO of pod3.tv "We've delivered an informative piece that explains the benefits that the "Da Vinci S" brings to cancer patients at The Royal Marsden Hospital and provided a response mechanism that takes the viewer directly to the Royal Marsden Cancer Campaign's donation page".

The Royal Marsden Hospital is raising £2 million in order to purchase a "Da Vinci S" surgical robot. This advanced machine will use minimally invasive surgical techniques helping reduce the recovery time patients. It also improves the chances of full recovery post-operation.

Isabella Douglas, Marketing and Communications Manager for The Royal Marsden Cancer Campaign, said: "The podcast has enabled us to inform our supporters on a new fundraising project in a new and exciting format. It allowed us to communicate complex surgical concepts in a detailed but easily understandable way and offered supporters the flexibility to tune in at their convenience."

The Royal Marsden interactive podcast is available from www.pod3.tv or from The Royal Marsden Cancer Campaign website at www.royalmarsden.org/campaign

About Pod3.tv

Pod3.tv was the brainchild of Neil Fairbrother who created the 6th fastest growing brand in the UK in 2002 (Langley-based Neos Networks) where he invented Liquid Bandwidth™ business-to-business telecoms service. Neil left when Neos was sold in 2003 to Scottish & Southern Energy plc. Neil had the idea for Pod3.tv at the January 2006 planning meeting of Maidenhead Ecademy - a networking meeting of local businesses that meets monthly at Norden Farm. First round of funding was secured in the summer 2006 from Music Systems Ltd.
