The 8th Annual SONYA Studio Stroll -- May 19-20, 2007

SONYA (South Of the Navy Yard Artists, Inc.) proudly celebrates the 8th Annual SONYA Studio Stroll May 19-20, 2007, noon to 6pm, rain or shine, in the vibrant and lively Brooklyn neighborhoods of Fort Greene, Clinton Hill and Bedford Stuyvesant.

Brooklyn, NY (PRWEB) April 4, 2007 -- SONYA (South Of the Navy Yard Artists, Inc.) proudly celebrates the 8th Annual SONYA Studio Stroll May 19-20, 2007, noon to 6pm, rain or shine, in the vibrant and lively Brooklyn neighborhoods of Fort Greene, Clinton Hill and Bedford Stuyvesant.

The SONYA Studio Stroll is one of the longest running open studio tours in Brooklyn, NY, showcasing the varied works of nearly 100 artists at over 40 venues. Following the success of past Strolls, SONYA Studio Stroll 2007, on May 19 - 20 vows to be the arts calendar pick. The SONYA artists have transformed their studios, homes and community galleries into a truly unique experience where visitors can interact with artists in their work space view multiple works and mediums, and purchase art at Stroll preview prices.

The event is a natural extension of how the thriving urban art community unites with the neighborhood. The Brooklyn neighborhoods of Fort Greene, Clinton Hill and Bedford Stuyvesant have long been the epicenter of creative energy, dating back to 1887 with Pratt Institute and Brooklyn Academy of Music supporting arts education.

Each year the SONYA Studio Stroll gets better; enticing more interest and pulling together some of the most dynamic artists, not only in Brooklyn but in the country. This years Studio Stroll promises to be an exciting event, displaying an eclectic range of mediums by talented artists.

The 2-day long event showcases the broad range of fine art from established Brooklyn artists and many that have never been exhibited before illuminating the visual power of each artist. Making the weekend a real community event, restaurants and retailers participate in the Stroll with exhibits, special offers, and promotions.

The SONYA Studio Stroll is funded, in part, by public funds from the NYC Dept. of Cultural Affairs and New York State Council on the Arts.
