About Lyn St. James:
Lyn St. James, born in Willoughby, OH made her debut in amateur racing in 1973 in the Sports Car Club of America and developed a love for racing after going to the Indianapolis 500 in 1966. When Lyn eventually raced in her first Indy 500 at the age of 45, she was just the second woman in history to race in the event. Some doubted that a woman could keep up with male drivers, and Lyn struggled to get the sponsorship she needed until J.C. Penney supported her at Indy.
