Gunnar Manufacturing Inc. Becomes The First in Its Class to Become a Certified Partner in The Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-Tpat) Program

Gunnar Manufacturing Inc, home of the Protective Office Furniture System, continues to break new ground in office furnishings by being granted the status of "Certified Partner in the Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) program. This certification was granted to Gunnar Manufacturing by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

Calgary, AB (PRWEB) April 15, 2007 -- Gunnar Manufacturing Inc. is an ISO 9001 and 14001 Designated company that has been serving the business community since 1979.

The ground breaking development of a patented, Protective Office Furniture System in 2003 has led the company to be the only office furniture company to gain a Designation of an "Anti-Terrorist Technology" by the Department of Homeland Security in 2006.

Now, Gunnar Manufacturing has become the first in its class to become a Certified Partner in the Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) by U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

Gunnar's "Protective Office Furniture System" is a 7-pce suite of office furniture with a built-in 'Personal Protection Pod' (PPP).

This unique and patented system will safeguard occupants by providing them a safe haven, under their desk thereby enhancing the probability of survival in the event of a structural ceiling collapse due to natural disaster, criminal activity or terrorist act. The occupant remains safe under their desk awaiting rescue.

It has been crush tested with building debris of 800 -- 100,000 lbs. dropped from a height of 14'. It has also been blast tested with 250 lbs of TNT at distances of 90 and 55'. A protective void was maintained in the PPP throughout the tests, thereby proving this product will provide a safe haven to rely on in times of danger.

The testing video can be viewed at http://www.gunnar.ca/blasthome.htm.
