Romeo Miller (aka Lil' Romeo) has committed to the USC Trojans Basketball team class of 2008. Miller has also accepted a co-starring role in the feature film "Sweetwater" in which he plays the young Nat 'Sweetwater' Clifton - the first African-American basketball player to play for an NBA team.

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) April 20, 2007 -- Percy Romeo Miller 6'1" All-American point guard for Beverly Hills High School has signed-on with the USC Trojans Basketball team as a member of their 2008 Class. The agreement, made official last week, makes Miller the first hip-hop entertainer to get a full athletic scholarship to a prestigious academic university such as USC.

Also signing with the Trojans is 6'7" shooting guard DeMar DeRozan of Compton High School. Both DeRozan and Miller previously played together in the AAU League team, P Miller Ballers. On the court, Miller has been compared to Allen Iverson while DeRozan has been compared to LaBron James.

The rapper-actor will also take his game to the silver screen playing the role of a young Nat 'Sweetwater' Clifton in the feature film "Sweetwater" from Sunset Pictures. Clifton was the first African-American basketball player to play for an NBA team. The film also stars Richard Dreyfuss and Henry Simmons and will begin shooting in San Francisco and New York later this summer.

Miller's most recent film project features him opposite up-and-coming teen pop sensation Forrest Lipton (http://www.forrestlipton.com) in the movie "Crush On U." The duo is promoting the film on a multi-city mall tour, with stops in California, Texas, Arkansas, and Minnesota. In June, the film "Uncle P" which also stars Miller's father, rapper Master P, will hit store shelves courtesy of New Line Home Entertainment. Soundtracks for "Crush On U" and "Uncle P" are distributed through UrbanDigital Records and are available at all digital retail stores.

In addition to a lucrative acting career, Miller and his father, the well-known rapper Master P, are also moving forward on their reality-TV series America's Next Hip Hop Stars. The series will canvass the country looking for the next big hip-hop act and will reward the winner with a recording contract and $50,000 cash prize.
