Back to the Future Dating with FunKards where 21st Century Technology Meets Old-World Charm to put a FunKy new Spin on Dating

Announcing the launch of FunKards - world's first business cards for your fun life - a novel dating concept promising to make luck happen for singles all over the world by turning internet dating upside-down.

Sydney, Australia (PRWEB) April 30, 2007 -- Meeting Mr. or Ms. Right can be difficult, expensive and complicated leading a couple of enterprising Aussies to come up with a simple fun alternative, when it comes to dating.

In order to meet people and get dates it's no longer necessary to go to special places, study dating techniques, learn pickup-lines or spend time and money making virtual love to strangers in cyberspace. With FunKards all anyone has to know is how to hand someone a business card - there's no need to say or do anything else - it's just that simple.

Internet dating is great for people looking for love from the privacy of their own home but up until now there has been very little to help people find romance when they are out and about in public and see someone they'd like to meet. Everyone knows there are few things in life more awkward or embarrassing than approaching a stranger in public. First there's the dreaded "long walk" over to where they are sitting; usually with a group of friends. Once there it is necessary to interrupt using one of those perfectly awful pick-up-lines and trying to exchange personal contact details, often in a dark and noisy environment. If the person is single and available there's no problem, if not, it's necessary to face the "long walk" back hoping no one notices how embarrassing public rejection can be. This "long walk" is tough for the bravest of men; little wonder it's seldom attempted by women. This is what FunKards were specifically designed for and what they are all about - addressing the problem of the "long walk" and what to say at the end of it.

The creators of FunKards hit on the idea of morphing the humble business card into a formidable dating tool and based their concept on the age-old and universally accepted practice of handing someone a business card. It's simple, discreet, efficient and very charming because everyone is flattered to know someone finds them attractive.

Using the every day business card as the basis of their concept, the creators replaced all personal and contact details normally found on a business card with a single id number and linked their FunKards to the internet. So once someone has been given a FunKard they log on to the FunKards website and key in the id number to access the photo/profile. From that point the system behaves just like internet dating where the parties can send each other messages, get to know each other and make arrangements to meet, all without the need to disclose any personal contact details. Unlike internet dating, with FunKards there is no need to make a decision to meet someone based on their photo - you actually see the person first - in other words, no nasty surprises. There's nothing worse than paying money to join an internet dating club, spending time on the internet looking at photos and reading profiles, making arrangements to meet and then finding the person looks nothing like their photo - or worse, doesn't exist at all.

In our time-poor society, busy people don't want to sit on the internet for hours, looking at photos or reading profiles; particularly when there is no way of knowing how true to life they are. Others aren't comfortable putting a photo or profile on the web for everyone to see or, because of work or other commitments, simply can't plan a social life in advance. And everyone would like a simple, fun, embarrassment free way of introducing themselves to someone they see. Finally a dating concept that works wherever in the world you happen to be and makes it just as easy for a woman to ask a man for a date as it is for a man to ask a woman, would level the playing field for everyone. FunKards took each of these factors into consideration and addressed all of the issues when creating their FunKy new dating concept.

So from now on that cute little blond chatting with a group of friends or tall dark and handsome leaning on the bar can get FunKed by anyone wanting to meet them - dating just doesn't get any FunKier than this.

FunKards - don't leave home without them!
