Family Digest Announces The Search for the Best Companies for African Americans - 2007

Family Digest announces the search for the best companies for African Americans - 2007. List in its 5th year highlights companies best at combining the recruitment and advancement of African Americans with work/life balance. Applications available for companies and their PR departments/agencies.

New York, NY (PRWEB) April 26, 2007 -- Family Digest today announced the search for the Best Companies for African Americans™ for 2007. In selecting the companies, Family Digest's editors evaluate organization's diversity strategy, employee feedback, employee demographics, recruitment of African Americans, board makeup, company culture, advancement of African Americans, work-life programs and policies, and spending with Black-owned suppliers.

"We love great companies. Great companies are always evolving, striving, and pushing forward toward a workplace that maximizes the involvement of all employee talent," says Family Digest Founder & Publisher Darryl L. Mobley. "It is in this spirit that we search for the great company's that will make up Family Digest's 5th annual list of the Best Companies for African Americans™. This year we are adding a look at each company's strategy for developing an inclusive culture that values work/life balance. Family Digest was the first publication to focus on the unique question of whether or not companies were doing a sufficient job at employment, retention and promotion of African Americans, in an environment sane to the needs of working adults and their families."

"Family Digest is the leading magazine addressing the interests of African American heads-of-household and their families," said Family Digest Editor-in-Chief Susan Benjamin. "Professional success can lead to a higher quality of life for our families. Because of this, we are interested in each firm's work-family programs, flexible-work policies, mentoring programs and the like."

Family Digest's list does not focus on selecting a specific number of companies. If they are worthy, Family Digest selects them. In keeping with a long-held philosophy, Family Digest does not rank the companies selected. According to Darryl L. Mobley, "To rank these outstanding companies is to commit fraud by our judgment and to make losers of all we did not deem to be number one."

Companies chosen in past years include: Cingular Wireless, Denny's Restaurants, Morgan Stanley, Mutual Community Savings Bank, New York Life, Procter & Gamble, Washington Mutual, Yale New Haven Hospital, Johnson & Johnson and Kraft Foods.

Companies chosen for 2007 will be featured to millions via Family Digest Magazine and on The Famly Digest TV Show.

Applications for interested companies and the full methodology for selecting for selecting the Best Companies for African Americans™ is available by email request to the email address Best@FamilyDigest.com. With your request, you must include your name, position, the name of your company, your email address, your telephone number, and all other contact information.
