Atlanta Artist, Jennifer J.L. Jones, Continues to Support Worthy Causes with Her Original Artwork

Noted contemporary artist Jennifer J.L. Jones has been donating original artwork to help various charitable organizations raise funds since 2002. The popularity of her work has meant fundraising success for worthy organizations in the Atlanta, GA and Jacksonville, FL areas.

Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) May 9, 2007 -- This year, noted contemporary artist Jennifer J.L. Jones was invited to donate a painting for an art auction to help support the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Jennifer's response will be a 56X56 piece created exclusively for the auction that will be held at the Soho Myriad Gallery in Atlanta (404) 351-5656.

The Greater Atlanta Affiliate of the national Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation provides funding for non-duplicative outreach projects that provide services to grassroots organizations, community agencies and support groups that provide assistance to breast cancer patients and their families in the Atlanta area. The Affiliate also provides funding to the national Komen Foundation Award and Research Grant program that has raised nearly $740 million in the fight against breast cancer.

Jennifer has donated original artwork to help raise funds for various charitable organizations since 2002. Organizations benefiting from her donations include: Pace Academy, Art Papers Magazine, Women's Center of Jacksonville, Art with a Heart, Jacksonville Museum of Modern Art, Georgia Lawyers for the Arts, and Vital Bridges.

As explained by Donald Dusinberre, art critic for EU Jacksonville, "Jones' mixed media work is rooted in nature, though not completely representational like the work of a landscape artist. Each piece ... is a sophisticated example of texture and aura. She smoothly incorporates a variety of materials including paints, wax, paper, charcoal, glue, and metal ... Lightly sheeted within many layers of paint is a single background color, washing in and out of view. Floating gently above the background are branches, leaves, and petals that stand as sharp flecks of contract to the mist of color behind them. From a short distance away, some of the paintings may resemble photos of a deep space nebula or the bottom of a shallow pond ...."

Jones' studio is in Atlanta. Her work is included in numerous international corporate and private collections, and is exhibited in selected galleries. Her work may be viewed on her website.
